Some things that I learned last night:

1. Kino(or touching) is key, I REALLY worked hard on kino tonight and I had multiple women kinoing me hard back(running their fingers through my hair, touching my necklace, hitting me on the arm), this was a great learning tool
2. Mixed Sets are Standard, I opened a lot of mixed sets, I’m not completely comfortable with mixed sets but opening them tonight was much easier than I thought. From here on out its going to be fucking butter.
3. Don’t leave until they tell you to, I opened a girl in a mixed set with light shoulder kino and she said exactly “don’t touch me”; Now the old me would have freaked out, but since it was a 5 set with 4 girls and 1 dude I decided to stick it out. Instead I ended up negging the girl and created comfort with all of the other people in the set. The original girl never recovered but least I had all of the others warmed up. I asked the others in the group why she was so standoffish and it turns out she has just been engaged that week. Everyone was digging the neg body language I was passing at the original chick. So don’t take it personal and run, fight back instead!
4. Adlib vs. canned, figure out what works for you, Adlibbing and improvising, casual banter worked well for me this night. I had fruitful conversations with a chick from Harvard, Two lesbians, a Hairstylist and many others because I was able to relate somehow to something they are interested in. Harvard chick was into Technology, Hairstylist was into snobbish beer(I’m a fan of good Ale), and I had something in common with pretty much everyone else. You don’t always have to be spouting cute math or cube routines.
5. Kino the dudes, I worked real hard on was kinoing the dudes in the mixed sets. This is very fucking important and worked to my advantage all night. I would open the girls in the mixed set but i would immediately go for a hand shake or a pat on the back for the dude afterwards. It works out, just don’t be weird about it.
6. Control the booze, I was able to also manage my alcohol tonight, If the dudes I were with weren’t drinking, I wouldn’t drink. I got a good grasp on when to stop and whats enough. All in all I had about 6 drinks all night which is about half of what I usually take in, and I talked to twice as many girls. So that’s a great fucking success on its own.

A lot of the sets that I opened turned out to be 2-sets of girls. After a few minutes of talking, one of the girls would excuse themselves to the bathroom and It would turn into a 1-set. I’m not sure exactly what that means but maybe i’m not paying enough attention to the other girl. I do concentrate on this inset but I guess I need to put even more energy towards the other chick next time.

I opened a 2-set of lesbians, They were basically gaming me at Lucky Lounge I of-course did not know they were lesbians beforehand but, nevertheless it was an interesting set. They are sitting down in the secluded front of the bar, and I sit down not even in sarge mode. I was trying to gather my things to text-message one of the boys. So I open with something like “Is this the hip part of the bar or are you about to get off work.” This led into some conversation about bar tending etc. I made a comment “Isn’t bartending a good job for a man like me to find a woman?” They started bantering back about Meeting each other in a bar, no clue if it was true, probably wasn’t. Then that thread somehow turned into genetic artificial insemination and I said something like “wow, I should do that too, I want a little athlete scholar.” Well later on when that thread died they decided to eject and go to the dance floor, they winked at me and left. Now this situation definitely improved my banter and improvisational comfort at the venue. They both were about 27 years old and even though they were lesbians, it really opened me up for the night.

I concentrated on Kino with every set I opened, I got a lot of good feedback and it really seems to prolong conversation and compatibility. I had a ton of girls running their hands through my hair. One thing I seriously need to work on is when girls run their hands through my hair I need to push away and come back with something like “hands off the merchandise” or “no touchy” etc.

I need to work on opening chicks from an angle next time, or even turn my back to them. I’ve probably been pretty direct lately.

All In all I had a great night, I’m still going to stay away from canned shit and use my own improv, seems to work for me.

Another thing I must add. Last night was orbiter galore. When you see a dude or two in a set with some beautiful women, you must assume they are orbiters. Last night this was the case 75% of the time. Just some gay friend, or some AFC that never has a chance but provides protection.
